Madrid, July 20, 2021.- International solar developer Dhamma Energy and Banque Palatine executed the financing agreements for the solar rooftops La Coucourde (3.05 MWp) and Valreas (1.3 MWp) in Southern France.

“We are very pleased with this new collaboration with Banque Palatine in the financing of solar rooftops in France. The development of solar energy remains essential to reach France’s decarbonization targets of tomorrow and solar rooftops also help to popularize renewable energy,” said Dhamma Energy’s Deputy CEO Nicolas Fasquelle.

“We are very happy to continue our partnership with the Dhamma group, a developer of international stature which specializes in solar energy projects. Banque Palatine keeps putting its expertise at the service of the funding of renewable energy projects,” said Didier Parpère, director of the Differentiating offer Department at Banque Palatine, and Florian Sardella, director of Banque Palatine´s branch in Montpellier.

Construction of the solar rooftops will start in July and completion is scheduled for the beginning of 2022. Dhamma Energy will operate the solar rooftops over the long term.

The solar parks will produce annually around 5.7 gigawatt hours (GWh), which is the equivalent to the domestic consumption of 1,200 homes. The solar rooftops obtained tariffs through call for tenders organized by the French Energy Regulatory Commission.

The solar rooftops La Coucourde and Valreas also engage local citizens in sustainable development through crowdfunding. Altogether, 490,000 euros were collected through local crowdfunding for these projects.

The sustainability of the projects is also strengthened by the fact that these solar rooftops are located within car recycling facilities, and that they include the construction of warehouses that are adapted to the needs of the recycling companies.

“We are very committed to the French market where we hold a portfolio of ground-mounted and rooftop solar plants of 120 MWp in construction and operation, and 1.5 GWp under development,” said Dhamma Energy’s COO France, Sémir Chahed.
